EEO Regional Program Administrator

Reginald L. Smith has been the EEO Regional Program Administrator for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Service/Bureau of Civil Rights (ODJFS/BCR) since May, 2002.  Prior to May, 2002, Reginald was an EEO Officer, who investigated discrimination complaints, performed compliance reviews, EEO trainings, and Acted as the ADA Coordinator for ODJFS.  He began working for Ohio Bureau of Employment Services (OBES) as an EEO Officer in 1985.  Reginald also serves as an Ex-Officio Member to the Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities (GCPD) and has been a part of the planning committee and a Co-Counselor for the Youth Leadership Forum (YLF) sponsored by GCPD.

BCR investigates all ODJFS employee complaints of discrimination; discrimination complaints from applicant/recipients related to services or benefits supervised or administered by ODJFS; is responsible for the Minority Business Enterprise program for ODJFS; monitors compliance with federal civil rights laws by ODJFS and  county entities administering ODJFS programs (county entities); provides technical assistance to ODJFS and county entity staff; provides training to ODJFS and county entity staff; provides training, information and promotes understanding concerning diversity of  ODJFS employees; and provides training and technical assistance to interpreters, county entities, and ODJFS staff involved with Limited English Proficient applicants/ recipients.
