Eric has been a member, of the Governor’s Council on People with Disabilities, since 2002. During his tenure on Council, he has been a member of the Health and Welfare, Employment, and Legislative Committees. He has served as Vice-Chair of the Employment Committee and served as Chair for 2004-2005 Council year. This year Eric serves as Council Chairperson.
He has a B.A. from Otterbein College. He has worked as a college intern, for the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission, and as a social program specialist for the Governor’s Office of Advocacy for People with Disabilities. Since 1993, he has been Director of Field Services for the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio. In 2003, he was appointed to the Help America Vote Act (HAVA) State Planning Committee, where he represented the interests and concerns of voters with disabilities.
Eric has been an active and involved member of Council for the past three years. He has participated in two Youth Leadership Forums, while on Council. He says that his most memorable experiences, on Council, were attending his first Youth Leadership Forum and meeting “Andrew the Great”.
