Christine Moranda is currently Manager of Disability Programs, Associate Health and Wellness for OhioHealth. She has been in this position for three years. During this time, she was instrumental in creating a Leave of Absence packet to assist OhioHealth associates in need of a disability leave and co-chaired a Supported Employment Team which resulted in a new position for a Workplace Accommodation Specialist (WPAS). Currently she is leading an internal Process Excellence Team, to review disability services (including FMLA, workers’ compensation, non-occupational illness/injury and long term disability processes). Chris is most proud of the WPAS position. Designed to work directly with Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation (BVR), this new program results in returning OhioHealth associates with a disability or permanent restrictions back to work (as well as creating accommodations for new hires). OhioHealth and Rehabilitation Services Commission, Employer Services Unit will be working together to expand this program and hope to share it with the employer community.
Chris has worked in the field of rehabilitation for 20 plus years. Her experience includes director of case management operations; regional supervisor for a home services facilitation company administering the Medicaid Waiver program; and program manager for two group homes for adults with developmental disabilities. She has also provided direct services as a vocational evaluator, work adjustment counselor, low vision assessor, medical and vocational case manager, and transitional work developer for the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
A graduate from Western College (Oxford, Ohio), she later received a Masters of Arts from Goucher College (Towson, Maryland) in Dance/Movement Therapy. Chris is a Licensed Social Worker with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Work Board, a Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS), and a Certified Case Manager (CCM).
