Columbus, Ohio
Second Term – 3 years to expire in 2008
I am a non-practicing attorney. I work with the Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and am involved in private business. After graduating from the Capital University College of Law, I established the Legal Aid Society in Athens County (Ohio). I am a member of the Buckeye Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and serve on its Government Relations Committee. I enrolled at the Ohio State University, College of Law, and studied the Law of Disability Discrimination. I have attended several seminars concerning the ADA, EEOC, Department of Justice and HUD.
My work experience started when I began practicing law in 1974. In 1985, I purchased Southern Bowling & Billiards (a central Ohio business). Due to the progression of my multiple sclerosis, I sold the business in 2001. One of the blessings of Southern Bowling & Billiards was the ability to promote billiard tournaments while remaining actively involved in the Columbus community. Their final tournament, the Greater Columbus Open, was a multi-state amateur pool tournament that ran from 1996-2001 and raised over $25,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
This is my fourth year on the Council and I am the former Chair of the Access Concerns Committee.
