The Board of Cuyahoga County Commissioners has strived for over 30 years to create employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. They established the Advisory Committee on Persons with Disabilities that reports directly to the Commissioners. They address concerns and issues within Cuyahoga County Government that are barriers to employment, accommodating services, programs, and building accessibility. The Commissioners also created employment-hiring procedures for persons with disabilities. This allows them to be referred for an interview and possible employment when a job is posted.
